Our journey with Dr. Holla
Around 13 years ago, we began working with Dr. Anantha Prasad Holla, a dermatologist whose career choices stood apart right from the start. After completing his MBBS from Mysore Medical College and MD in Dermatology from the prestigious PGI Chandigarh, he wasn’t interested in being a generalist. During his training, he had developed a strong inclination toward treating skin conditions that leave a deep psychological and social impact on patients.
Among them, one condition stood out—vitiligo.
At a stage when most young dermatologists keep their options open, he chose to focus on just one disease. This wasn’t just super-specialisation; it was micro-specialisation. It required clarity, patience, and a long-term vision—qualities that would later define his journey.
At the time, he was practicing in Delhi, while also exploring the possibility of setting up something meaningful in Mangalore and Bangalore. Our first connection happened in a very simple way— through an email newsletter we used to send to doctors about digital visibility, medical tourism, and the growing role of the internet in healthcare. Very few doctors responded.
He did.
When we met him at his apartment in Mayur Vihar, Delhi, the setting itself said a lot. He wasn’t sitting in a clinic environment. He was surrounded by test tubes, deeply involved in research and clinical work related to vitiligo. That first meeting made it clear that this was someone who combined clinical practice with serious academic intent.
We spoke about how the internet could help focused expertise reach the right patients—across cities, countries, and continents. His response was immediate and decisive. We began by building his first website, clearly positioning him as a dedicated vitiligo specialist.
There was one small but significant moment early on that defined the partnership. At that time, we accepted payments only through cheque or cash. He asked if he could pay via credit card. To make that happen, we set up our first online payment gateway—specifically for him. That flexibility reflected how both sides were willing to adapt and move forward together.
What followed was steady and then rapid growth.
Over the years, we built multiple specialised digital platforms—separate websites for medical and surgical management, educational portals dedicated to vitiligo, and later, strong video-led visibility as social media evolved. Some of the content gained wide traction, bringing national and international attention.
Today, the brand MelanoSite operates large, dedicated centres in Delhi and Bangalore, with centres of excellence in Kolkata and Hyderabad, and active presence across major Indian cities. Patients now reach out from 75+ countries across 5 continents.
One of the most meaningful aspects of this journey for us is the trust Dr. Holla has placed in our work over the years. All of his marketing, digital visibility, and patient outreach have been built and managed entirely through our efforts. Every enquiry, every international patient connection, and every stage of growth has been shaped through a consistent, digital-first approach—something we’re genuinely proud to have been a part of.
Beyond visibility, we’ve also supported internal processes—guiding patient communication workflows, training teams to handle enquiries, and now working on future initiatives including ecommerce models for patient support.
This case study reflects what’s possible when deep medical focus is paired with long-term digital strategy, mutual trust, and the willingness to evolve—without losing sight of quality care.
